Biography of Donald Trump
On June 14, 1946, Donald John Trump, better known by his
stage name Donald Trump, was born in Queens, New York. From January 20, 2017,
until January 20, 2021, he was the 45th President of the United States. He is
an American businessman, politician, and television personality.
Early years and education:
Donald Trump comes from a line of real estate
entrepreneurs. His mother, Mary Anne MacLeod, was a Scottish immigrant, while
his father, Fred Trump, was a prosperous real estate developer in New York
City. During his high school years, Trump first attended the Queens Kew-Forest
School before transferring to the New York Military Academy. He became
interested in leadership and business while attending the military academy.
Trump attended Fordham University for two years following
his graduation from the New York Military Academy before going to the
University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He earned a Bachelor of Science in
economics from Wharton in 1968.
Business Career:
Construction of well-known structures including the Trump
Tower in Manhattan, the Trump Plaza, and the Trump Taj Mahal casino complex in
Atlantic City were among Trump's real estate endeavours. He has dabbled in
other industries, such as hospitality, golf, modelling, and show business.
Career on television:
Aside from his business endeavours, Donald Trump
attracted a lot of attention by appearing on television. He served as the host
of the reality TV programmes "The Apprentice" and "Celebrity
Apprentice." The programme showed participants vying for the opportunity
to work with Trump and portrayed his image as a harsh and forceful businessman.
The success of "The Apprentice" helped to make Trump well-known
across the country.
Political Career:
Donald Trump's association with the
Republican Party marked the beginning of his political career. He had
previously showed interest in politics, thinking briefly about running for
president in 1988, 2000, and 2012. Trump, though, only really rose to political
prominence during the 2016 presidential contest.
Trump's presidential campaign emphasised populist appeal
and anti-establishment rhetoric. In the general election, he challenged Hillary
Clinton of the Democratic Party after winning the Republican nomination. Trump
won the electoral college and was sworn in as the 45th President of the United
States despite controversy and heavy criticism.
Presidential Term:
During his term as president, Donald Trump put into
effect a number of measures and programmes that had a big impact on both
domestic and international affairs. The "America First" policy of his
administration, which prioritised economic nationalism, deregulation, tax cuts,
and immigration changes, was a key component. He proposed three justices for
the Supreme Court as well as other conservative judges for federal courts.
There were several scandals and polarising initiatives
throughout Trump's administration. These included enacting travel restrictions,
attempting to repeal the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), engaging in trade
wars with China, leaving global agreements like the Paris Climate Accord, and
his stance on immigration, which included the "Zero Tolerance" policy
that resulted in family separations at the US-Mexico border.
Post-Presidential Life.
After leaving office in January 2021, Donald Trump
persisted in exercising influence inside the Republican Party. Both times that
he was put on trial for impeachment—in 2019 and again in 2021—the Senate found
him not guilty. Trump has continued to be active in politics and has supported
candidates in following elections.
For many years to come, historians, political analysts,
and the American people will continue to analyse and discuss the entire scope
of Donald Trump's impact and legacy.
